DAY ONE
1. Arrive, get ski equipment and passes
The gang’s all here! First thing, check into The Lodge at Vail or The Arrabelle, both ideally located for on- and off-mountain activities. When you reserve your equipment online in advance, we’ll deliver it right to your hotel! Check that it’s arrived, and then either leave it for the evening with the hotel’s ski valet or grab it and head straight to the mountain. Make sure you have your lift tickets purchased and in-hand.
2. Get on the mountain
Get on the mountain and partake in the main event – skiing! Start by exploring Vail’s sprawling Back Bowls. Cruise a few of China Bowl’s blues before making your way to Sun Up Bowl for optimal tree skiing (and gorgeous views of Mt. of the Holy Cross) on your first day here.
3. Explore Vail Village
Swing by your room, drop of your gear, and head into the Village for the afternoon. Stroll along Vail’s heated cobblestone streets and take in the beautiful alpine architecture while shopping and catching up with friends. There are dozens of world-class options, from Gorsuch and Patagonia to Cos Bar and The Golden Bear.
4. Let La Tour & Larkspur "WOW" You
Vail’s dining scene is second to none with options ranging from casual pizza joints to high-class French cuisine. La Tour is the latter and one of the most acclaimed restaurants in Vail, serving haute French cuisine with Colorado flair. Larkspur boasts delectable New American cuisine with warm ambiance and elevated cocktails.
5. Barhopping on Bridge Street
Take the party to Bridge Street, which is primed for barhopping. Post up at one or many of the nearby options, from Pepi’s to The George and countless others. Bonus: Vail’s free in-town bus runs until closing time, allowing you to imbibe into the wee hours of the morning.
DAY TWO
1. Breakfast in town
Grab a quick breakfast at local coffee shop Yeti’s Grind and enjoy “small town comfort in a cup.” Sip on one of their specialty lattes, such as the Wired Yeti Mamma, while devouring a burrito or pastry pre-ski.
2. Experience Vail's Legendary Mountain
Time to hit the slopes! Get a few hours of skiing in together before dividing and conquering your half-day ski lessons. Keep the group together or split up based on ski ability. Track your vertical feet with the EpicMix App and earn badges as you make your way around the mountain.
3. Après Ski like the Locals
Meet back up for après at either Los Amigos or The Red Lion, two of Vail’s crowd favorites. Watch people finish their last run of the day from Los Amigos’ deck while sipping on a margarita, or listen to live music and enjoy a cold brew at The Red Lion.
4. Dinner in Vail
Terra Bistro’s menu is 90% organic and Bar Manager Ben brews his own “Crazy Bald Head” ginger beer and hard grape soda for their specialty cocktails. Or head to Campo de Fiori for authentic Italian cuisine with an extensive wine list to pair with each course.
5. Explore Vail’s nightlife
If you’re more in the mood for live music, Shakedown is the place to be. Catch local and national musicians nightly. Interested in sipping a craft brew? Stop into the Vail Brewing Company's tasting room in Solaris. Be sure to check a few of Vail's classic watering holes off your list, like Garfinkels and Bart and Yeti's in Lionshead Village.
DAY THREE
1. Breakfast on the Go
Stop by Joe’s Famous Deli for a quick and delicious breakfast downtown. Try their lox and bagel or the bacon and egg waffle sandwich, and top it off with their homemade ice cream for a special treat. For a bigger breakfast, opt for Tavern on the Square’s breakfast buffet and grab a taste of everything.
2. Late morning/afternoon ski
Since Vail’s ski guide showed you the ropes yesterday, you’ll be ready to conquer a variety of terrain on the mountain today. Explore Vail’s many trails using our beginner, intermediate and expert trail guides as a group.
3. Après: Sample Vail's Craft Spirits
Take après to the next level by visiting the 10th Mountain Whiskey & Spirit Company on Bridge Street to try their locally crafted spirits honoring the 10th Mountain Division soldiers. If you’re looking for a different après experience, try one of the many other spots in town.
4. Bowling for Dinner @ Bol
This ain’t your mama’s bowling alley. Bol boasts 10 lanes and tasty menu items ranging from octopus to duck buns to pizza. A sixty-foot bar and regular DJs will keep your crew entertained for hours on your last night in Vail!
