4th of July in Vail - What to Know!

Although we’re known for our world-class skiing, Vail transforms into a vibrant summer destination. The summer fun really ramps up during the Fourth of July! Here’s what you can expect for the holiday this year.

10:00 a.m. – Noon | Fourth of July Parade: Start your Independence Day off right with Vails annual Fourth of July Parade! The region's largest parade kicks off at 10:00 a.m. sharp, but we suggest you arrive around 9:30 to get the best views of the parade. The parade will progress from Golden Peak through Vail Village across the International Bridge, all the way to the Lionshead to finish at approximately noon. Throw on your best patriotic gear and bring the energy!

Cool off in between acts: On a hot summer’s day, there’s nothing better than finding that perfect place to beat the heat. We recommend getting up in the high alpine or staying down low by the water. Embark on a scenic gondola ride to the top of Vail Mountain and be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. Hike along the vast network of trails, ranging from leisurely walks to challenging treks. Keep an eye out for vibrant wildflowers, and plentiful wildlife sightings. If staying down low is more your speed, you can explore the refreshing waterways of Gore Creek, perfect for fly fishing, wading, or simply relaxing by the water's edge. For a more exhilarating experience, try paddleboarding or kayaking on nearby rivers.

2:00 p.m. - Patriotic Concert: Catch the Dallas Symphony Orchestra at 2 at the Amp which benefits the Vail Veterans Program.

-Tickets go on sale July 1 with a maximum of 4 tickets per person:

Culinary Delights: After a long day in the summer sun, hit one of the many restaurants around both Vail and Lionshead village. If you head up either gondola both MidVail and Eagles Nest boast a new menu giving you more options this summer. Satisfy that sweet craving with a sundae over at Simba’s Café.

9:45 p.m. - Fireworks Show: No Fourth of July celebration is complete without fireworks, and Vail is the perfect place to get your firework fix. Head to Golden Peak in the evening and find a cozy spot to enjoy the show with Vail’s front side as a perfect backdrop. (Conditions permitting)
