History

The 10th is Vail’s newest on mountain restaurant, built in 2011, and will be celebrating its 10th winter on Vail Mountain this upcoming season. The 10th was built in partnership with The Vail Mountain Club and was named in reverence to The 10th Mountain Division, a division of the military that trained here in the Vail Valley amidst the extreme conditions similar to those they would come to face in the high mountains of Europe. Many of the founders of Vail Mountain served together in World War II, and came back to Vail, Colorado to complete their vision of a family-oriented European style skiing mecca. The addition of The 10th on Vail Mountain elevates the on-mountain dining experience and offers guests the superior service that Vail has become renowned to deliver.
