Exciting camp experiences are what summer memories and Colorado family vacations are made of! Check out the amazing variety of innovative day camps provided by Vail Recreation District, and find the perfect fit for your child's interests.
For preschoolers, learning and fun go hand in hand. In the Discovery Bunch program, little ones play, listen to stories based on daily themes, create art projects and sing songs in a small, structured setting. Another option for 3- to 5-year-olds is Pre-Kamp Vail. In addition to art projects and games relating to children’s books, campers enjoy daily adventures ranging from hiking and gondola rides to environmental education and tours of local businesses.
Programs for big kids help broaden horizons. Camp EcoFun encourages participants, ages 4 through 11, to explore local ecology with the help of naturalists from the Gore Range Natural Science School, and through nature-oriented arts and crafts and other activities. At Camp Vail, kids from 5 to 12 enjoy a bit of everything: sports, art, science, outdoor adventures, martial arts, and more. Extreme Camp Vail arranges action-packed days for kids who crave adventure (ages 8 13, with some exceptions). Activities include a tour of and thrill rides at Glennwood Caverns and visits to amusement parks, plus rafting, tubing and caving.
