PRIVATE LESSON DETAILS

Check In: If possible, you should check-in by 4:00pm the day before your lesson. If you are unable to check in the day before, please arrive at our facility no later than 8:00am. If you checked in the day before, please meet at your meeting location listed below at 8:50am. At check- in, you will receive your lesson and lift tickets (if applicable). If you reserved rental equipment with your lesson, we will help direct you to our Vail Sports rental shop who will outfit you with the gear you need.
 
Lesson Times:

  • Full Day: 9:00am - 3:30pm
  • Morning Half Day: 9:00am - 12:00pm 
  • Afternoon Half Day: 12:45am - 3:45pm

 

LIONSHEAD LESSONS

Where to Check In: Check in at the Lionshead Adult’s Ski & Snowboard School facility.  This is located in the Lionshead Ticket Office, near the base of the Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19). Hours of operation are 8:00am-4:30pm. 

Where to Meet:

  • All Skiers and Snowboarders: You will meet at the private lesson sign outside our lobby doors. Once outside, make a left hand turn.

Where You End: Depending on level, your lesson will end at the Lionshead base or top of  Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19), though you are welcome to leave at any time. If you wish to add additional days, come into the Ski & Snowboard School Office or call 970-SKI-VAIL the day before, or 2 days prior for the best price.

GOLDEN PEAK LESSONS

Where to Check In: Check in at the Golden Peak Adult’s Ski & Snowboard School facility. This is located in the Golden Peak Lodge and near the Riva Bahn Express Lift (#6). Hours of operation are 8:00am-4:30pm.

Where to Meet:

  • All Skiers and Snowboarders: You will meet at the Ski School hangman adjacent to the Riva Bahn Express Lift (#6).

Where You End: Your lesson will end at the Golden Peak base, though you are welcome to leave at any time. If you wish to add additional days, come into the Ski & Snowboard School Office or call 970-SKI-VAIL the day before, or 2 days prior for the best price.

 

VAIL VILLAGE  LESSONS

Where to Check In:
Check in at the Vail Village Ski & Snowboard School facility. This is located in the Vail Village Ticket Office and at the base of Gondola One. Hours of operation are 8:00am-4:30pm.

Where to Meet:

  • All Skiers and Snowboarders: You will meet on the snow at the base of Gondola One by the private lesson sign. 

Where You End: Your lesson will end at the Vail Village base, though you are welcome to leave at any time. If you wish to add additional days, come into the Ski & Snowboard School Office or call 970-SKI-VAIL the day before, or 2 days prior for the best price.



WHAT TO BRING


Vail is in a high elevation environment, which means the temperature may change dramatically during the day and we have above average UV indexes. Below is a list of items to bring in order to ensure you have an experience of a lifetime:
  • Waterproof snow pants, jacket, and mittens/gloves
  • A face mask, scarf, or neck gaiter
  • Goggles
  • Helmet (recommended)
  • Sunscreen
  • One pair of ski socks
  • Dress in Layers: the temperature may change during the day and the sun is strong
  • Bring your lift ticket if it is not included in your lesson reservation. All lesson participants need a lift ticket.
  • Lunch Money


 

CANCELLATION & PAYMENT POLICY


All lesson reservations must be cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson or a processing fee will be imposed. If you cancel (within the 24 hour period) and we are able to re-book the instructor, a $100 processing fee will be charged. If you cancel and we are unable to re-book the instructor, the full price of the lesson will be charged to your credit card. You also have the option to move the lesson to another day based on availability and no process fee will be charged.

ADULT GROUP LESSON DETAILS

Check In: If possible, you should check-in by 4:00pm the day before your lesson. If you are unable to check in the day before, please arrive at our facility no later than 8:30am. If you checked in the day before, please meet at your meeting location listed below at 9:45am for full day lessons and 12:45pm for half day lessons. At check- in, you will receive your lesson and lift tickets (if applicable). If you reserved rental equipment with your lesson, we will help direct you to our Vail Sports rental shop who will outfit you with the gear you need.

Lesson Times:

  • Full Day: 9:45am-3:30pm
  • Afternoon Half Day (Small Group Workshops): 12:45pm-3:45pm

 

LIONSHEAD LESSONS

Where to Check In: Check in at the Lionshead Adult’s Ski & Snowboard School facility.  This is located in the Lionshead ticket office, right near the base of the gondola. Hours of operation are 8:00am-4:30pm. 

Where to Meet:

  • First Time Skiers and Snowboarders: You will meet at the blue first time skiers sign outside our lobby doors. Once outside, make a left hand turn.
  • All Other Skiers and Snowboarders: You will meet at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19), so load the gondola by 9:30am. Once at the top, make your way outside and turn left. You will see large wood structures, our high ropes courses, where the instructors will be gathered.

Where You End: Depending on level, your lesson will end at the Lionshead base or top of Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19,) though you are welcome to leave at any time. If you wish to add additional days, come into the Ski & Snowboard School Office or call 970-SKI-VAIL the day before, or 2 days prior for the best price.


GOLDEN PEAK LESSONS

Where to Check In: Check in at the Golden Peak Adult’s Ski & Snowboard School facility.  This is located in the Golden Peak Lodge and near the Rive Bahn Express Lift (#6). Hours of operation are 8:00am-4:30pm.

Where to Meet:

  • First Time Skiers and Snowboarders: You will meet at the blue first time skiers sign outside our lobby doors. If you coming via the in town bus, the bus will drop you off right at the meeting location. 
  • All Other Skiers and Snowboarders: You will meet on the snow between the Riva Bahn Express Lift (#6) and Gopher Hill Lift (#12). Once on the snow, in between the two chair lifts will be a fence with instructors gathered around it. 

Where You End: Your lesson will end at the Golden Peak base, though you are welcome to leave at any time. If you wish to add additional days, come into the Ski & Snowboard School Office or call 970-SKI-VAIL the day before, or 2 days prior for the best price.

 

MID- VAIL LESSONS (SMALL GROUP WORKSHOPS) 

Where to Check In: Check in at the Vail Village Ski & Snowboard School facility.  This is located in the Vail Village Ticket Office and at the base of Gondola One. Hours of operation are 8:00am-4:30pm.

Where to Meet: 

  • Intermediate and Above Skiers: You will meet in front of the 10th restaurant where you will see instructors gathered.

Where You End: Your lesson will end at Mid-Vail, though you are welcome to leave at any time. If you wish to add additional days, come into the Ski & Snowboard School Office or call 970-SKI-VAIL the day before, or 2 days prior for the best price.

Check In: If possible, you should check-in by 4:00pm the day before your lesson. If you are checking in your child the morning of their lesson, please arrive at our facility no later than 8:00am. Important things to double check are contact phone numbers, allergy information, and special needs. At check- in, you will receive your lesson and lift tickets (if applicable). If you reserved rental equipment with your lesson, we will help your child try on the boots and you will take the boots and helmet home with you so your child can be wearing them and be ready to go in the morning. Skis and snowboards may be taken home or stored at ski school.
 
Lesson Times:

  • Fullday: 9:00am - 3:30pm
  • Morning Half Day: 9:00am - 12:00pm 
  • Afternoon Half Day: 12:45am - 3:45pm

Where to Pick Up: Pick up is located where you dropped your child off in the morning, Lionshead Base. At pick up you will have the opportunity to speak with your child’s instructor about what they worked on in their lesson. If you wish to add additional days for your child, come into the Ski & Snowboard School Office or call 970-SKI-VAIL the day before, or 2 days prior for the best price.

 

GOLDEN PEAK LESSONS

Check In: If possible, you should check-in by 4:00pm the day before your lesson. If you are checking in your child the morning of their lesson, please arrive at our facility no later than 8:00am. Please verify all information on name tags and registration forms for accuracy. Important things to double check are contact phone numbers, allergy information, and special needs. At check- in, you will receive your lesson and lift tickets (if applicable). If you reserved rental equipment with your lesson, we will help your child try on the boots and you will take the boots and helmet home with you so your child can be wearing them and be ready to go in the morning. Skis and snowboards may be taken home or stored at ski school.

Where to Drop Off: If you checked in the day prior please follow the drop off times below.

  • 3-6 Year Olds: Drop off your 3-6 year old child at the Lionshead Children’s Ski & Snowboard School Facility between the hours of 8:00am-9:15am on the day of their lesson.
  • 7-14 Year Olds: Drop off your 7-14 year old child in the group lesson learning area to the left of the Born Free Express Lift (Chair #8) at the base of Lionshead at 9:00am.
  • Ultimate 4: Drop off your child at the Ultimate 4 yard, located to the right of the Eagle Bahn Gondola (#19), at 8:45am.

Where to Pick Up: Please bring a photo ID, and remember your security code to pick up your child.  Your child’s lesson will end between 3:15pm-3:30pm. Pick up is located where you dropped your child off in the morning.   • 3-6 Year Olds: Drop off your 3-6 year old child inside the Golden Peak Children’s Ski & Snowboard School facility between the hours of 8:00am-9:15am on the day of their lesson.
  • 7-14 Year Olds: Drop off your 7-14 year old child in the group lesson learning area behind the Golden Peak Children’s Center, up the small hill by the corbel and
    Ripp's Ride magic carpet at 9:00am.
  • Ultimate 4: Drop off your child at the Ultimate 4 yard, located just behind the Golden Peak Children’s Center, just outside the rental doors, by 8:45am.

Should you have chosen to check in the day before, remember to have your child wear his/her ski or snowboard boots when they are being dropped off for their lesson! We have limited storage for additional belongings.
