The beautiful and friendly Lionshead village is completely closed off to cars and buses, and offers close walking access to the Eagle Bahn Gondola and Chair #8 Born Free Express, Lionshead Childrens Ski School, the Arrabelle Square outdoor ice rink (with skate rental), and numerous shops and restaurants.
Originally built in the late 60s, Lionshead was recently renovated in Austrian-inspired style. It easily accesses the Eagle Bahn Gondola and Born Free Express Lift (#8). Long-time favorite restaurants Bart & Yeti’s and Garfinkel’s (Garf's to locals) anchor the diverse culinary scene. The Vail Chop House and Tavern at Vail Square offer more upscale dining options as well as a great place for slopeside cocktails.
A mix of shopping from luxury goods to much-loved outdoor lifestyle brands like Burton, Patagonia, Salomon, and North Face. Also, the walk between Lionshead and Vail Village only takes 10-15 minutes but there is a complimentary In-Town bus that runs regularly all day long and well into the evening.
A 1/4 mile outside of Lionshead is Vail Cascade Resort and Spa
, an expansive property featuring the largest gym in Vail as well as its own chairlift (date of lift opening is dependent on snowfall). They also offer a free shuttle into town if you feel like starting your ski day in Lionshead, Vail Village or Golden Peak or to carry you home after a night on the town.
