Pond Skim Registration

The World Pond Skimming Championships is open to anyone and everyone that believes they can make it across the pond. It is guaranteed to be a wet and wild good time! Participants must be 16 years of age and older. The top male and female finishers will receive a 2019/20 Epic Pass! All participants will get a special Helly Hansen backpack and other prizes will be awarded to the Best Splash, and Show Stopper!

Calling skimmers from all parts of the globe are gathering floaties and flippers and making the annual migration to the Vail Valley. Many will compete for fame and glory, while others have their eye on the grand prize, “The Golden Skimmer.” They are the unsinkable athletes that will showcase their water solubility on Lake Golden Peak Sunday, April 14, starting at p.m. in a showing that defies the laws of physics and perhaps even common sense.

Finish the season strong while hanging out with friends and testing your bags skills at the Spring Back to Vail Bags Tournament at Golden Peak. Free entry for 21+, registration will be set-up at Golden Peak the morning of Sunday, April 14 , guests can stop by to sign up, hit the mountain for a couple runs, then be back ready to compete at 11:30 a.m.! Special prizes will be given out for all participants and winners.

Spring Back to Vail concerts are free to attend. VIP opportunities for both concerts are available for purchase here. Cover charges may be required at select Spring Back LIVE! locations.

Yes, there will be an ADA viewing section at the Ford Park concert venue, but due to the nature of the venue, space is limited. Please contact our concert promoter with questions on parking or additional ADA services: info@gohighline.com.

Please leave the following at home, as attendees will be denied entry should any attempt be made to bring them into event venues: large bags/backpacks, coolers, alcohol/drugs, bottles/glass containers, cans, dogs and other animals, chairs, weapons of any kind (including, but not limited to firearms and knives), laser pointers of any kind, signs attached to a stick or pole, recording devices, professional still cameras, video cameras and drones.

Please note that event management retains the right to make the final decision on prohibited items. Furthermore, specific concert or event security policies may create additions to the list above. All guests entering the venues are subject to search by metal detecting wands and/or pat downs.

Additionally, all small bags and purses are subject to search at venue entrances. Attendees will see an increased security and police presence both inside and outside the concert venues.

The Festival Village will be open at the base of Gondola One from 9:00 am to 4:00pm Friday and Saturday. Guests can expect to find numerous brand expos, demos, organization information, and product samples in this area from event sponsors.

The Festival Village at International Bridge at Vail Village will be open from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm Friday – Sunday.

The Festival Village at Golden Peak will be open from 12:00 pm –5:00 pm on Sunday, including food and beverage specials, expo village and Spring Back Bags tournament, followed by the World Pond Skimming Championships.

Parking is available in either the Vail Village or Lionshead parking structures on South Frontage Road. Street parking is not permitted until all public parking facilities are completely full.

Town of Vail and Eagle County offer extensive public transit systems. Please enjoy Spring Back to Vail responsibly and make your transportation plans ahead of time.

GETTING TO CONCERT:

  • NO PASSENGER VEHICLES ALLOWED at the Ford Park concert venue: Ride share, Limos and Hotel Shuttles may drop off at the bus turn around at the Ford Park concert venue until 7PM each night. No drop off or pick up will be available at the Ford Park concert venue after 7PM
  • WALK: Concert attendees can walk from the village.
  • BUS: Take the FREE ExpressTown of vail busses from Vail Transportation Center OR top level of Lionshead parking structure.

The free concerts will take place outdoors in the Ford Park parking lot, so attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately. Venue is standing room only and winter/spring conditions may exist.

The World Pond Skimming Championships will take place outdoors at Golden Peak, so attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately. Venue is standing room only aside from a few picnic tables and winter/spring conditions may exist.

Tikis and Tunes will take place at Mid-Vail, Sarge’s Deck. There is indoor seating in Sarge’s and in Mid-Vail restaurant. Music will take place outside, weather pending.
