Complimentary Mountain Ski/Snowboard Tours

During the winter season, Community Guest Service volunteers provide complimentary tours of Vail Mountain for any guest whose ability level is intermediate or above.

General Mountain Tours are offered during the winter season and will leave from the Game Creek Desk adjacent to the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola and from the top of Gondola One at the Mid Vail Ski School desk each morning promptly at 10:30 a.m. It is highly recommended to get to either location by 10:15 as each participant will be required to sign a liability release form before the tour. Each tour is considered a “Familiarization Tour” of the mountain and should last about 2 hours.

The Blue Sky Basin Tours are offered during the winter season, this tour begins at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, and Fridays, from Henry’s Hut across from Patrol Headquarters (PHQ) at the top of Chair 4. Please arrive at Henry’s Hut by 10:45 to sign a release form. This tour is recommended for High level intermediate or above skiers or riders.

60+ Ski with Us Tour is a weekly program for skiers 60 years of age or older of advanced intermediate or above skiing ability and is only offered during the winter season. Complimentary all day mountain tour, on Mondays only, provided by Vail resorts through the National Ski Patrol Mountain Host program. Meet at 9:15 am at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola at Gondoly’s Pizza on the first level of Eagle’s Nest. Leave for ski tour at 9:30 am. Stop for lunch along the way and end approximately 45 minutes before lifts close. Tour is limited to the first 30 people to sign up each morning. This is an opportunity to ski with a Mountain Host guide who has acquired the knowledge of Vail Mountain, its trails and its ever-changing conditions to optimize your ski experience while at Vail. It is also a chance to meet new friends and have a fun, safe and social ski day with local and visiting skiers. (Holiday blackout days – 12/28/15, 1/4/16, 1/18/16, 2/15/16 and 3/28/16)
