Vail Ski & Snowboard School is on the cutting edge of creating unique programs and experiences to fit the unique needs of every skier and rider. Advanced snowboarders are encouraged to check out the brand new Burton Mountain Experience Program, where riders have the opportunity to receive a personalized, guided tour of Vail Mountain from one of Vail Snowboard School's finest instructors. Passionate beginners may be interested in the new 'Learn.Turn.Ride' program, which guarantees our newest riders will be hooking turns in three days, or the fourth day is on us. There truly is something for everyone in the Vail Ski & Snowboard School and our world-class instructors will be there every 'turn' of the way.

Burton Mountain Experience

For the not-quite-pro but well beyond beginner rider, Vail Ski & Snowboard School offers the Burton Mountain Experience, which combines small groups of advanced riders with the mountain's best instructors who know the mountain like the back of their hands. Offered on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the Burton Mountain Experience is a crash course to the ins, outs and best stashes on Vail's 5,280 acres from a snowboarder's perspective. Meet at the Burton Store in Lionshead at 8:30am and have your instructor help select the best demo equipment from Burton’s vast selection that matches your riding style and the conditions of the day. In addition to skipping out on lift lines all day, you spend a day of exploration and adventure on the hill with your very own private guide. Think of yourself as the Christopher Columbus of the modern day.

Learn.Turn.Ride

Always wanted to try snowboarding, but worried that all the rumors about the first day falls, aches and pains are true? Well put those worries aside, because now is the perfect time to strap on a board and learn how to ride with top-notch snowboard instructors from the world-class Vail Ski & Snowboard School. 

Our professional instructors use hands-on techniques to create a “slam-free” learning environment and guarantee that you’ll be cruising on your way past the beginner areas after just three days of lessons on the snow. If your skills have not progressed to the level necessary to begin exploring the mountain outside of the beginner chair areas by the end of the third day, we will offer you a complimentary fourth day to get you there.

This product can be used in a five-day period, which will allow you to slow down and enjoy the learning process, or pursue some of the other fun offerings here at Vail.

Burton's LTR Program

 

There is always something new to try, that’s one of the joys of snowboarding. It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to link your first turns on a mellow learning slope, thread a needle through a tight, powdery glade or start adding some style in the park – progression is always available to you.

Burton's LTR program utilizes specially designed equipment and terrain features to speed up the progression curve. LTR Programs are focused on managable groups within an environment best suited for the task at hand...learning to ride. Whether that means first turns or getting an extra rotation in the mix, they break it down one step at a time, and focus on individual learning styles for the best personalized experience.

 

 

Max 3

Focused, personalized instruction with a maximum of three people per instructor. Half-day small group clinics with one of Vail’s trained pros afford plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor. The only group lesson guaranteed to fit on a quad chairlift! Solidify fundamentals or tackle that nagging soft spot in your abilities. Available daily at Mid-Vail. Maximum 3 students per instructor.

Afternoon only. Alpine Levels 5-9.

Ultimate Four

A new premium group lesson program for children ages 3–15 years with only 4 children per instructor. Your kids will be able to explore the mountain while fine tuning their skills with one of our friendly professional instructors.  Registration begins at 8am and your child must be registered and ticketed by 9am.  Classes will leave from Golden Peak or Lionshead at 9:15am.

Ski Girls Rock

February 16-22, 2013 and March 10-31, 2013

Ski Girls Rock, a new premium lesson product inspired and designed by Olympic gold medalist and World Alpine Ski Champion Lindsey Vonn, is exclusively for girls ages 7 to Teen at Vail Mountain. The inspiration comes from Lindsey’s own experience as a young skier and interactions with female role models who inspired her to the greatness she’s achieved today both on and off the slopes.

Ski Girls Rock lessons consist of no more than four students per group and will be led by dedicated female instructors who will focus not only on improving skiing skills, but empowering girls through the sport and creating opportunities to bond and build confidence along with developing teamwork and social skills.

Women who will be instructing the programs also had the opportunity to meet with Lindsey recently to understand her vision for Ski Girls Rock and hope to convey this same sense to each of their students. Lindsey and the instructors discussed the goals they’d like to see the girls attain while building friendships in the process.
