A perfect day in Vail. The legendary back bowls. Long thigh-burning groomers. Quick Après at The Centre V Bar. A stroll through the Village galleries. Capped off by dinner at the sumptuous Wildflower. And maybe a nightcap at happing Vendetta’s. All these conjure up delightful images of charming, cosmopolitan, stylish Vail.
Unless of course you have the entire family in tow. What you maybe didn’t know is that Vail is just as attractive for the entire family.
A perfect family day, and night, in Vail.
A scenic and free Gondola ride to the top of the world at Eagle’s Nest.
First stop into family friendly Bistro Fourteen. Stylish with a great view, but casual, and whoah, kids eat for just $10! Table for 4 please!
But not before what looks a lot like the best Tubing Hill in the lower 48! 30 minutes of most fun the kids have had since this morning’s Ski & Snowboard School. Sweet and what a neat way to build up the appetite. Oh, and to smooth out the aching thigh muscles!
The table’s ready in 15 minutes. Just enough time to swing by the Walking Mountains Nature Discovery Center. A cool nature museum and the only one at 10,000 feet! And easy to find too…it’s the only Yurt at Eagle’s Nest!
Finally. Dinner. Perfect. The kids get this neat multi-course offering that keeps coming from the moment we sit down. They loved it!
So what about dessert?
How about Vail’s best pastry chef working at Bistro Fourteen. Just because you can.
And then you surprise your kids. Ski Biking! A quick check - they’re taller than 4’ 6”, and yes, of course they’re intermediate skiers! Off we go. A helmet with a miner’s light. Little shoe skies. And it’s down to Lionshead Village. And you think to yourself, they sure didn’t have cool stuff like this when I was a kid.
Thank you Vail!
