A stellar cast of the world’s greatest in dance take the stage in an evening of repertory excerpts praised by The New York Times as, “The best gala [I] have attended in decades.” This year, the assembled stars represent countries from the United States to Argentina, Brazil, England, Japan, China, and in a nod to the origins of the Vail International Dance Festival, Russia.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Vail International Dance Festival is a treasured celebration of dance, renowned for its artistic excellence and unparalleled programming. Performances will take place July 28 through August 10 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater in Vail and the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, while community events will be held in the streets and villages throughout the Vail Valley. Under the leadership of Artistic Director and former New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Damian Woetzel, the 2013 Vail International Dance Festival (VIDF) will host a total of 11 performances. The event’s spirited atmosphere transforms Vail into a culturally rich environment that is inviting to dance aficionados and newcomers alike.
