Time: 9:00 AM

Add to iCalendar/Outlook

The U.S. Forest Service and Vail Mountain invite you to participate in Vail’s Mountain Cleanup Day, scheduled for Tuesday, June 17. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Vail Village with an upload time of 9:00 a.m. on Gondola One.  Volunteers and inactive employees are encouraged to print and complete the liability form below and bring it to the event. Each volunteer will receive a voucher for one (1) complimentary lift ticket for the 2014-2015 winter season. Active, on-duty employees are not eligible for the lift ticket voucher. Trash bags will be provided. Please bring water, sunscreen, sturdy hiking boots, work gloves, and proper attire for inclement weather. A complimentary lunch will be served at 12 p.m. at Sarge’s BBQ at Mid-Vail. Active on-duty employees must bring their employee pass to upload and receive lunch.

Active hourly employees must be on the clock to participate in mountain cleanup. If you have questions about this, please contact your manager.

Please note that absolutely no riders may be transported in the back of pickup trucks. All volunteers and employees must ride inside a vehicle – no exceptions. Attached is a guide to cleanup areas broken out by departments. This is only a suggestive list to ensure we have adequate coverage of the mountain. If there is an area of the mountain you would like to walk instead, please feel free to do so. All trash collected can be transported to Mid-Vail and loaded into an on-site dumpster. An “Electronics Recycling” receptacle will also be located at Mid-Vail to ensure electronic devices are recycled and not land filled pursuant Colorado Statute SB12-133, banning e-waste from landfills in Colorado.

Each year, employees and community volunteers collect thousands of pounds of trash and preserve Vail Mountain’s spectacular natural environment. Many thanks in advance to everyone who is able to participate in this event.

Volunteers, please fill out this Liability Form and bring it along with you on the cleanup day.
