Dallas Symphony Orchestra
Jaap van Zweden, conductor
Matthias Goerne, baritone

SCHUBERT & STRAUSS: Selected Songs
DEBUSSY: Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun
RESPIGHI: Pini di Roma (Pines of Rome)

Exquisite songs by Schubert and Strauss are sung by German baritone Matthias Goerne, one of the most internationally sought-after vocalists and a frequent guest at renowned festivals and concert halls. Closing the program is Italian composer Ottorino Respighi’s colorful symphonic poem, Pines of Rome. Each of the four movements depicts pine trees in various locations in Rome at different times of the day.
