HOLST: The Planets, Op. 32

English composer Gustav Holst's fascination with astrology comes to life in The Planets, a "series of mood pictures.” This masterfully composed suite brings forth the full array of orchestral color to its seven movements, each named after a planet of the Solar System and its corresponding astrological character. The centerpiece of this program is the Sibelius Violin Concerto with Gil Shaham, an audience favorite all over the globe.
