Tchaikovsky's 5th

New York Philharmonic

Alan Gilbert, conductor
Carter Brey, cello

DVOŘÁK: Cello Concerto in B minor, Op. 104
TCHAIKOVSKY: Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64

Dvořák’s beloved Cello Concerto features New York Philharmonic star principal cellist Carter Brey. Music Director Alan Gilbert ends this program with Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony. A triumph with audiences ever since its premiere, the Fifth spans a wide emotional range, at times explosive, even tragic, while also tender and lyrical.
