Snowshoeing from the Nature Discovery Center

From animal tracks to the mountain pine beetle, the Nature Discovery Center is your source for all things wild - including guided snowshoe tours with an expert naturalist. See and learn about the wild side of Vail in the most pristine of settings. 2pm daily, no reservations required. Daily AM snowshoe tours are also offered through the Vail Resorts Nordic School. Hours: Daily at 2pm 

Dates Of Operation: Open - Mid April, 2014

All ages welcome at the Nature Discovery Center.

Discovery Center Dates and Hours:
Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Located in an all-seasons yurt atop Vail Mountain, the Nature Discovery Center is a community-based partnership between Vail Resorts, the US Forest Service and Walking Mountains Science Center. Walking Mountains naturalists provide daily nature hikes that explore Vail’s high alpine habitat and teach visitors to the yurt about local ecology.

Snowshoe Tours Dates and Hours:
FREE guided snowshoe tours - daily at 2 p.m. (No reservations needed.) Ages 10 and older.

FREE evening snowshoe tours – Tuesday-Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Ages 10 and older.

Please dress warmly and wear snow pants and sturdy waterproof boots.  Snowshoes are provided.
