Snowshoeing on Vail Mountain

From animal tracks to the mountain pine beetle, the Nature Discovery Center is your source for all things wild - including guided snowshoe tours with an expert naturalist. See and learn about the wild side of Vail in the most pristine of settings. Daily AM snowshoe tours are also offered through the Vail Resorts Nordic School. Snowshoe Tours from the Vail Nordic School

Daily group snowshoe tours are available through the Vail Nordic Center from 10am - 12:30pm. Cost of tour includes all equipment (snowshoes, boots and poles).

Free Snowshoe Tours from the Nature Discovery Center

Travel by snowshoes on an educational tour through the forests atop of Vail Mountain. Learn about winter ecology and animal adaptations as you gaze at majestic mountain views. Please come prepared to spend an hour outside in the winter environment with snow pants, warm hats, gloves and sturdy boots. Snowshoes are provided. Participants sign up at the Nature Discovery Center. Daily 2:00pm-3:00pm and evening snowshoes offered Thursday - Saturday 5:30pm - 6:30pm.

Located in an all-seasons yurt atop Vail Mountain at Eagle's Nest, the Nature Discovery Center is a community-based partnership between Vail Resorts, the US Forest Service and Walking Mountains Science Center.
